Measure roofline requiring gutters. Divide roofline by 10'(3m) for number of gutter sections. Multiply sections by 5 for number of hooks.
Plan high points and locate downspouts to ensure rainwater flows away from foundation. Use 1 Downspout per 40'(12 m) maximum.

carefully. Always work safely! Fascia
must support gutters filled with water.
If fascia is missing or unsuitable, use
Roof Rafter Brackets. Dip fittings in
soapy water for ease of assembly.
INSTALLING TRADITIONAL VINYL GUTTER SYSTEMS
PLANNING - Measure Roof Line and Locate Downspouts
Snap level chalk line 1/2" (13 mm) from
top of fascia. Starting at high point (A),
snap chalk Guide line, sloping down
1/8" (3 mm) for every 10' (3 m) linear
to downspout. (Fig. 1.0)
HOOKS: Two options -
1 piece or 2 piece, both styles
are not available everywhere.
Separate joiner pieces. Slide inside
piece under back lip, then press firmly
to slide into front lip (Fig. 3.1). To
connect, slide next gutter section onto
inner joiner. (Fig. 3.2). From below,
hook outside joiner piece over back
and snap over front lip. Secure as
shown. Fasten two (2) 1/2" (13 mm)
selftapping rust-resistant screws
through dimples in top edge of outer
joiner into gutter (Fig. 3.3).
Before cutting final gutter lengths,
locate and fasten Drop Outlet to
fascia, 1/2" (13 mm) below sloping
chalk line. Cut final gutter lengths
using temperature marks on Drop
Outlet (Fig. 4.1).
• End Drop Option 1: Cut 6" (15 cm)
gutter length, install hook and end
cap; slide gutter into Drop Outlet and
fasten to fascia (Fig. 4.2).
• End Drop Option 2: Run the last
piece of gutter through the Drop
Outlet and cut a hole in gutter directly
over downspout (Fig.4.3). Option 2
requires one end of the
gutter length to be free to move back
and forth to accommodate
expansion/contraction.
*Do not put screws through Drop
Outlet into gutter
MEASURE: Secure an Elbow to the
Drop Outlet with a 1/2" (13 mm)
self-tapping rust-resistant screw.
Position an Elbow against wall,
measure the distance between and
cut a Downspout length to connect
Elbows (Fig. 5.1).
ASSEMBLE DOWNSPOUTS:
Determine Downspout length from
wall Elbow to 6" - 12" (30-60 cm)
above ground. Use Connector if
length exceeds 10' (3 m) (Fig. 5.2).
Secure Elbows to Downspouts with
1/2" (13 mm) self-tapping,
rust-resistant screws.
FASTEN DOWNSPOUT CLIPS:
Align and attach two Clips to wall
for every 10' (3 m) of Downspout.
Use suitable fasteners for wall
mounting surface. Snap
Downspout into Clips (Fig. 5.3).
Secure an Elbow to bottom of
Downspout.
INSTALL DIVERTER: Attach
Diverter to bottom Elbow. Secure a
length of Downspout to Diverter
using 1/2" (13 mm) self-tapping,
rustresistant screw. (Fig. 5.4)
Attach Clip to Downspout to hold
extension when upright.

MEASURE:

1 Piece Hook:
On the ground, slide hooks onto gutter,
12" (30 cm) from end and 18"-24"
(45-60 cm) apart (Fig.2.1). Install End
Cap (Fig. 2.1) as required. Using 1-1/2"
(38 mm) screws, fasten hooks to fascia
on guide line. Top of hook should line
up along chalk guide line. (Fig. 2.2)
2 Piece Hook:
Detach dovetails and trim excess.
Fasten dovetails to fascia on
guide line 12" (30 cm) from
end and 18" - 24" (45-60 cm)
apart (Fig. 2.3). On the
ground, slide hooks onto
gutter (Fig. 2.4). Install End
Cap as required. Align and snap hooks
into dovetails (Fig. 2.5).
